My little about me and my art journey...

My name is Angela and I am an art quilter and digital artist. I have formal education in mathematics, computer and business management and have worked as an educator and information consultant for over 20 years.

Designing and creating art has always been a part of my life.
I owned a crocheting business when I was 13 years old. From my crochet business, I developed carpal tunnel in my hands and so started using a sewing machine when I was 16 years old. I sewed home decor items such as curtains and pillows for holiday presents.  In 2004, I  began quilting and in 2006, started an art quilt studio to share my work.  My quilts have been shown in exhibits in North Carolina, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.

My journey with digital surface design...

In the boom of Internet business, I was teaching computer programming and web design full-time to college students in the day and to entrepreneurs at night. (I actually started the first certificate program in Web Design in Long Island, New York!) I had taught myself graphic design and digital photography with Photoshop and Illustrator, as it was necessary for my web design program. I taught classes and sold digital art prints and postcards from my website for several years.

Fast forward to my art quilt studio...after exhibiting quilts for a while, I decided to take a hiatus and rethink the overall artistic direction of the studio. I wanted to get back to my computer days with Photoshop and Illustrator. A light bulb went off in my head to combine the two art forms. Digital surface design gave me an opportunity to use my background in graphic design and digital photography and at the same time, continue to make artwork for my studio.
